Hello, I’m Wilson Hung

This is where I keep notes on everything I learn and where I catalog my marketing experiments.

Here’s a bit about me and what I’ve accomplished so far:

November 2015: Left my job as a chemical engineer to focus entirely on user acquisition.

December 2015: Started FounderOrigins so I would have a portfolio piece. In less than 1 month, I acquired 1000 email subscribers.

March 2016: Reached out to Noah Kagan @ SumoMe and got a job. I made many mistakes, but learned a lot.

July 2016 to Now: Started helping Justin Mares to grow Kettle & Fire

I’ve also been featured on sites like: SumoMe, ConversionXL, Canva, Forbes, and HostGator.

My Quick Story

Hey, I’m Wilson. Welcome to my blog. The first two versions of this blog post were super long, so to avoid boring you with my whole life story, I’m going to start from scratch. I will give you a short version of who I am, and what I have achieved so far.

  • At 19, I started my first business selling shot glasses to my engineering faculty.
  • At 21, while I was on my co-op term in Calgary, I used my vacation days to film and edit new hire HR videos for Spartan Controls.
  • At 23, I graduated Queen’s University with my chemical engineering degree. I was hired by ExxonMobil to start up the $33B Kearl Oil Sands Project
  • At 24, I created a group dating website on my free time
  • At 25 (that’s now), I quit my job to work on my own projects and I’ll be sharing what I learn on this blog.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. My aim with this blog is to use it as a medium to organize my thoughts and the key things I’ve picked up so far.
